Introduce yourself.

My name is Sara Stalz. I’m 20 years old and I am working as a volunteer in the Bennohaus.

How did you become involved in Youth4media project?

Actually I started my voluntary year with a media camp (August 2004) in which I supported the coordinators.From this time I grew more aand more into the european youth media work that this and realized that this is exactly what I want to do .Now,7 months later I am coordinating this camp on my own.

What were your innitial impressions about your first media camp?

It was simply great ! I felt as if in another world and had the impression of being far away even though my home was just 30 km away.I left this camp with a big sadness but with the knowledge that my view on life and other people changed somehow.I’ll never forget these two weeks.

What new features of your character have you discovered through the participation in this project?What skills have you acquired within the project?

My communication facilities did improve.Now I know I can achievce more than I thought.

Have your tasks been changing in the progress of Youth4media ?

From participation to organizational support to self –independent organizer

How can you describe the participants of the camps? In which sense are they extraordinary?

Theyare all open to new experiences,to new people and tolerant of differences .

Are you planning to connect your future life with media work? Or maybe it’s already connected?

Yes, I would like to have a job in the field of media work/journalism/oganization!

What are your impressions about this media camp?What is special about it?

Normally a media camp lasts 2 weeks but since thids one lasts only one week ,the participants have to be very disciplined and productive.

Do you think such meetings contribute to reducing prejudice ? Do they help building up friendship and understanding over the borders?

Yes,becouse the media stuff is the base on which further conversations can be built.
