Together with four european partners, the citizens media centre Bennohaus has founded the project "Youth4Media", which was set up especially to support young people in Europe concerning medial topics. For a period of two years (June 2003 to May 2005), the open cannel (Offener Bürgerkanal e.V.) provides the qualification options, technical equipment, and innovative didactics and methodology for the open youth work to the participants, to make them become active citizens by personal and cultural commitment. The fight against racism and xenophobia, and the active participation in the european citizens society are topics of the project as well.

In this practical media work the participants show their commitment for equality, participation and an united Europe.
The 16- to 25-year old young adults are motivated to deal with their social and cultural environment, and to carry out intercultural learning. The achieving of these competences should enable the young people for an active participation in the european citizens society and for an intercultural dialogue.

Besides Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Sweden are qualifying the participants using local media workshops as well. The training of media trainers for example was conducted during seminar- and meeting weeks of the partner organisations in the Bennohaus, Münster, Lublin (PL), Kristiansand (N), Gotheborg (S) and Hengelo (NL).

Certified advanced trainings, which qualify multiplicators to action-oriented, intercultural youth media work are carried out.
