Poland - the heart of Europe
Poland is to be found at the center of the European continent and it’s one of the largest of the countries of Eastern Europe. This situation cause that Poland has been, for centuries, a bridge between the East and West and also today, when it’s a part of the European Union, doesn’t forget about it’s position and role.
Poland is a multifarious country where everyone can find something interesting. The amateurs of the history can follow the traces of every historical epoch: mediavel towns, renaissances churches, the theatres from the begining of 20th century and at the end, the traces of the newest history – concentration camps, crematorias and ghettos founded by Nazis or “keepsakes” of communism. But Poland it’s not only a history. Over the past decade, it has developed into a modern, vibrant and progressive state. Now it’s a member of the European Union and NATO, an active participant of the international area and a country which promote all over the world the worths of peace, democracy and human rights.
If you are an amateur of the nature come and see Poland! Here you have everything: beautiful mountains, several thousands of lakes, Baltic Sea and forests that cover just over a quarter of Poland’s territory. But if you prefer “city life” you should visit our capital (Warsaw) or other nice cities in Poland, like Krakow, Poznan or Lublin.
Poland is also a country where you can see the influences of many cultures: jewish, russian, german, french, american and many others. But we still maintain our national identity. Polish literature, music or cinematografy is well known all over the world. The prominent polish people like Fryderyk Chopin, Czeslaw Milosz or Andrzej Wajda are the visiting-cards of polish culture.
But Poland it’s not only the buildings and trees. It is, first of all, the pople – always hospitable, friendly and open for others, who welcome visitors “with bread and salt”, like we say. We love life, music and dance. We are happy when we can be with our family and friends. We know that life is short and it’s necessary to enjoy it but we also prize the worths like tradition, religion and esteem for others.
And for those reasons we are so special...
